Karl Larsen grew up in Woodstock, New York, where he developed an interest in visual arts and rock music during his childhood. His passion for photography started with his father's Kodak camera and continued through high school, where he worked in a camera department.After earning a Bachelor of Science from the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering at Binghamton University, Karl moved to Los Angeles just off the Sunset Strip and began working as a resident photographer at the House of Blues. His work gained attention from publications like Rolling Stone Magazine, leading to various assignments worldwide.Throughout his career, Karl has photographed major music festivals, The Rolling Stones' largest concert in Brazil, and toured with bands such as Velvet Revolver. He was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 2008 and documented significant events like Barack Obama's inauguration and Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.Karl's photographs have appeared in numerous prominent magazines, and he has licensed his work to record labels and equipment manufacturers. He has established professional relationships with celebrities and fellow photographers, becoming a recognized figure in event and concert photography.A notable achievement in his career was being the exclusive professional photographer allowed at the Guns N’ Roses reunion concert at the Troubadour in 2016, after the band had not performed together for 23 years. This event marked a significant milestone in his career.
