"‘Still Life’ is from my visual dream journal; a dream in 2002 in which I was a luminous white spider hanging from the silk thread of my body in vast dark space. This dream continues to inspire numerous drawings and paintings. The woman, the rope, the dark space, expressing the depth of my dreaming and the spider consciousness I was in, even though I was clearly a woman dreaming she was a spider? I have many renditions of this piece, and I continue to relive the dream experience each time I produce another piece inspired by it"
