Lawrence Schiller — Robert Redford AKA The Sundance Kid, 1968
Limited Edition Fine Art Photography

Lawrence Schiller is one of the most significant photographers and documentarians of the twentieth century. Over a career spanning six decades, he photographed the defining figures of American culture — from Marilyn Monroe and Muhammad Ali to Robert F. Kennedy and Norman Mailer — with an intimacy and authority that came from genuine relationships built over time. His archive is one of the great records of American life in the second half of the twentieth century.

Robert Redford AKA The Sundance Kid, 1968 captures Redford on the set of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid — the film that would make him a superstar and cement one of the great screen partnerships in Hollywood history. Schiller photographs him in character, the easy charisma and physical grace that defined Redford's screen presence fully evident even off-camera. This is a portrait of a man on the cusp of becoming one of the defining actors of his generation, photographed by someone who understood exactly what he was witnessing.
